What life in Macarthur looks like.
In the Macarthur region we offer something different from our other areas: both homes here are enrolled Specialist Disability Accommodation, built to the High Physical Support design standard. That means features like hoist provision and backup power are part of the building itself, not retrofitted afterwards.
The Narellan home is in the Camden area on Sydney's south west edge, close to Narellan Town Centre with its roughly 220 stores, Camden Hospital a short drive away and the Narellan Sports Hub nearby. The Campbelltown home is a modern residence with easy access to local amenities, Macarthur Square and Campbelltown Hospital.
SDA and SIL are different NDIS supports and people often need both here: SDA funding relates to the specialist building, SIL funding covers the daily support hours inside it. If you are not sure what your plan includes, send it to us or ask your support coordinator to call. We will tell you plainly what fits and what does not.
New to SIL? Start with our plain-English guides: what SIL actually is, who pays for what and how to prepare for a first home visit.
SIL in Macarthur: common questions.
What does High Physical Support mean?
It is the SDA design category for people with significant physical impairment who need very high levels of support. Homes built to it include structural provision for ceiling hoists, emergency backup power and clearances designed for full-time wheelchair use.
Are the Macarthur homes actually SDA enrolled?
Yes. Both the Narellan and Campbelltown homes are enrolled SDA dwellings in the High Physical Support category with onsite overnight assistance. Enrolment status and design category are shown on each home's page.
Do I need both SDA and SIL funding to live here?
Usually, and they do different jobs. SDA funding in your plan relates to the specialist dwelling itself, while SIL funding covers the support workers who assist you day to day. We will look at your plan with you and confirm what applies before anything starts.
