A Day in an NDIS Day Program: What to Expect

Wondering what actually happens in a day program? No two days look the same, but here is the shape of a typical one.

Structure with room to breathe

A good day program balances routine with choice. There is a clear shape to the day, but plenty of space for participants to follow their interests and make decisions.

Programmes are built around each person's goals and change as those goals do.

A typical mix

Life skills like cooking and using transport. Creative arts and music. Community outings chosen by the group. Gentle exercise and time outdoors. And, for many participants the highlight, shared meals and real social connection.

Try before you decide

You do not have to commit sight unseen. Come for a visit, meet the group, and see if it feels right. No pressure and no lock-in.

Transport to and from the programme can usually be arranged as part of your plan.
