Getting the Most from Community Access in Your NDIS Plan

Community access funding can open up sport, social connection and everyday independence, if you know how to use it well.

What community access covers

Community access support helps you take part in life outside the home: appointments, sport, worship, classes, volunteering, or simply catching up with friends and family.

It is often funded through your Core supports, which are among the most flexible in an NDIS plan.

Make it about your goals

The most successful community access is tied to something you actually want, whether that is getting fitter, learning a skill, or building confidence using public transport. Naming the goal helps everyone support it properly.

Transport matters

Getting there is half the battle. Safe, reliable transport to activities can be built into your support, so distance is never the reason you miss out. Talk to us and we will factor it in.
